Pizza Camp at Wild Wood Pizza!

The primary objective is for the kids to have fun. Secondary goals are for the kids to develop a basic knowledge of producing delicious and healthy food in a safe clean environment. Campers will design their own chef’s aprons, uniform shirts and hats and their own specialty pizzeria menu of 3-4 items which upon completion of camp, they will present to their VIP and will prepare lunch for, and dine with.
Description
Week 1
Making dough
– [ ] Kids will scale out to recipe and make a batch of pizza dough
– [ ] Kids will learn to measure weights of all ingredients
– [ ] Kids will shape dough to proper weights
– [ ] Kids will learn the math/costs of making dough
– [ ] Kids will make their own 6” pizzas to eat and have a drink with lunch
Week 2
Making sauces
– [ ] Kids will learn recipe for classic red sauce, white sauce, and pesto
– [ ] Kids will measure out ingredients and make them
– [ ] Kids will learn how to cost out sauces
– [ ] Kids will make 6” pizzas with their choice of sauces
Week 3
Bread part 1
– [ ] Kids will again make pizza dough
– [ ] Kids will learn to measure and cost out focaccia
– [ ] Kids will make their own pizzas, sandwiches, or pitas for lunch
Week 4
Cookies & ice cream
– [ ] Kids will learn to make chocolate chip cookies, cookie sundaes, and ice cream
– [ ] Kids will get to take home cookies AFTER they make their own 6” pizzas again
Week 5
Bread part 2
– [ ] Kids will learn about poolish
– [ ] Kids will make brioche
– [ ] Kids will work on pizza dough again
– [ ] Kids will make their choice of lunch
Week 6
Presentation
– [ ] Kids will decorate their chef’s aprons
– [ ] Kids will don their special pizza making shirts and hats
– [ ] And they will present their pizza shop menus
– [ ] Their special guest (mom, dad, whoever) will enjoy lunch with the camper dining on whatever selection they have made from the camper’s “menu”
