Grade 5-11, Wednesdays, 11:00am to 12:15pm from Sept. 14 to Nov 16.
We’re taking 10 action-filled sessions to de-construct, put back together and make operational a few gas-powered engines ranging from a snow-blower to a gator. Along the way the students will learn about simple and complex machines, laws of motion, friction, work, energy and heat transfer. How else should a youngster spend his or her days?

Class Goals (Fall, Winter, Spring):
For the inaugural installment of Vocational Science at the Loudoun Field Center, we’re tackling small engines. We’re taking 10 action-filled sessions to de-construct, put back together and make operational a few gas-powered engines ranging from a snow-blower to a gator. We’ll learn how to problem-solve; how to fail and fail again and keep trying. And all while learning great skills to help later in life.
